Samir Gambhir

Samir works as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyst for the institute. His work involves spatial and quantitative analysis for research projects at the institute. He provides mapping support for the institute’s ‘Communities of Opportunity’ framework. He is also the lead graphic designer for reports, flyers and other publicity material for the institute. He manages and maintains Kirwan Institute’s ArcGIS and ArcIMS software. Before joining the institute, Samir worked as a GIS Intern with Dispatch Consumer Services and was teaching assistant for GIS courses at The Ohio State University. He was running his own architectural practice in India before coming to the U.S. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the department of City and Regional Planning (CRP) at OSU. He completed his masters in CRP in 2003. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from India in 1992.
