Charles works as a research assistant at the Kirwan Institute. He is currently working on the democratic merit and African American male projects, which address innovative methods to create diversity in the college admissions process and disparities faced by African American men respectively. Prior to working for the Kirwan Institute, Charles worked as a teaching assistant, research assistant, and computer consultant for The Ohio State University’s Department of Sociology. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from DePaul University in 2005.
